Hemodialysis, or dialysis, is a process in which the blood and other fluids are filtered with the help of a machine after the kidneys can no longer perform their normal function.
During hemodialysis, the patient is hooked up it a dialyzer. The machine extracts the blood from the patient, filters the blood, then returns it via port in the arm.
As it is not uncommon to require Hemodialysis up to three times per week, feel rest assured that the providers at KidneyCare Oklahoma will visit with you up to four times each month at a dialysis facility near your home
