Dr. Melody Rachal

MD

Melody Rachal, MD, is a board-certified internal medicine physician who practices with KidneyCare Oklahoma, bringing extensive experience in hospital-based medicine, rehabilitation care, and physician leadership. She has also served as a hospitalist at Ascension St. John Medical Center for many years, where she provided comprehensive inpatient care focused on safety, coordination, and continuity.

Dr. Rachal earned her medical degree from the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine and completed her combined internal medicine and pediatrics internship and residency at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine–Tulsa. She is board certified in internal medicine and maintains advanced cardiac life support certification.

Throughout her career, Dr. Rachal has practiced across a wide range of inpatient settings within the Ascension St. John Health System, including acute care hospitals and inpatient rehabilitation facilities. Her clinical background includes managing complex medical conditions, overseeing transitions of care, and working closely with multidisciplinary teams to support patient recovery and long-term health.

In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Rachal has held multiple leadership roles, including Associate Medical Director of Rehabilitation Hospitalists and Associate Director of Floor Hospitalists. In these roles, she contributed to physician oversight, quality improvement initiatives, and the development of consistent, high-quality inpatient care models.

Dr. Rachal maintains hospital privileges at multiple Ascension St. John facilities throughout the region. She is known for her collaborative approach, clear communication, and commitment to providing thoughtful, patient-centered care. Through her work with KidneyCare Oklahoma, she supports seamless coordination between inpatient and outpatient providers to ensure continuity and high-quality outcomes for patients.
